Becky talks Olympics, motherhood, TV and SwimStars
Becky met with Mummy Social’s Sarah Turner to discuss Olympic success, daughter Summer, TV work and of course, why she set up Becky Adlington’s SwimStars.
In the interview, Becky spoke about her three year old daughter, saying: “I love taking Summer swimming now and it reminds me why I got into swimming in the first place. All about fun!”
This is something Becky has made sure she encourages through her Learn to Swim programme, with children being taught lifesaving skills through games and activities – all with an emphasis on fun!
When asked why she set up SwimStars, Becky said: “[Swimming is] such an important life skill but many people just view it as a sport. For me, swimming is more than that. It’s about confidence and fun while being active, all whilst learning a life skill. I’m so proud to say we teach nearly 10,000 children a week to swim.”
The SwimStars programme currently runs in over 40 venues across the UK.
